THE ART OF NATURAL ATTAR MAKING
Kannauj, India
Perfume making is one of the oldest living crafts in human history—an art shaped by patience, nature, and generational wisdom. At Ritva Fragrances, this art is not merely preserved, but carefully refined for the modern connoisseur.
Our journey began in 1914, rooted in India’s legendary perfume heartland—Kannauj. What started as a small, family-led pursuit of natural aroma extraction has evolved into over a century of dedicated craftsmanship, passed down through generations.
We follow the traditional hydro-distillation process to extract pure ruhs and attars. Though time-intensive and demanding, this method allows the soul of each botanical to be captured in its most authentic and enduring form.
Our raw materials are sourced with intent and respect for nature. Kewda flowers are distilled at origin in Odisha, rose petals are processed close to their fields in Uttar Pradesh, while spices, herbs, woods, and resins find their transformation in Kannauj—where tradition lives and breathes.
Every Ritva creation reflects our unwavering commitment to purity, depth, and balance. With 111 years of Indian perfumery heritage, we continue to craft plant-based attars that honour nature while appealing to a global sensibility.
Discover a collection shaped by time, tradition, and truth—where every drop tells a story.
Born from nature’s finest botanicals, shaped into refined natural attars.
